                Learned  Solicitor  General states that out of  the
        waste  which  has  been imported some  of  the  consignment
        relates  to  waste oil.  A large part of the waste oil  is
        contaminated  and  the Union of India proposes to  move  an
        application  asking for appropriate direction for  disposal
        of  the  said  contaminated  waste   oil  by  applying  the
        principle  of  polluter-pays.  Application be filed  within
        two weeks.  List thereafter.

                Pursuant to the order of 27th July, 2001, Report of
        the C.S.I.R.  is stated to have been submitted to Professor
        Menon  which  has also been placed on record.  Copy of  the
        same be given to Mr.  Sanjay Parikh.
